Do you know this table?

Remember my post from a few days ago of things I wanted to break up with in 2013?  Remember the ugly table?

Well a few days later I had an encounter that changed everything.  I met the love of my life, known as “The Table”.    Read on.

I was dropping some donations off at the local thrift store when I saw the “50% Off Everything” sign in the window.  I had a few minutes before we needed to get Bubba down for his second nap of the day.  And besides.  I was only browsing, right?  Mmm hmmm….

The Table has been in this store for ages.  Like almost a year, I think.  Priced at $200.  I love this table.  Love. This. Table. When I first saw it I prayed that the store didn’t know what they had.  They did.  And at $200 it was probably a steal.  But this little town that I live in has been hard hit by the economy and massive unemployment.  Anyone shopping in a thrift store wasn’t going to pay $200 for a table.

Enter Jenna.  Ok.  I wasn’t either.  I mean, I have two babies to take care of.  With not a lot of help from the birth parents or the child protection folks that claim legal responsibility for these guys.  Just saying.  And after Christmas and the beginning of the month bills…not a lot of spending flexibility.

So I really was just looking when I saw the “50% off Everything” sign.  Besidse, I wasn’t going to cough up $100 I didn’t have.  But the table was…..wait for it….25 FREAKING DOLLARS!!!   Excuse me while I dance a jig!!!

No makeovers today.  No DIY posts.  Just a little celebration over this little lovely!  OMG! OMG! OMG!   Buh bye ugly, old table….hello, gorgeous!

I’m really interested in knowing more about this piece if anyone knows anything about vintage/antique or just plain junky tables.  Her heritage totally doesn’t matter to me but I love her and I’d like to know more about where she came from.  So if anyone has any ideas of her history, style, whatever, I’d sure like to hear from you.

Can you believe she was just $25 dollars?

And stay tuned for her renovation to bring her back life  I don’t have a formal dining room but I think she can shine all on her own and host a lot of lovey get togethers.

Linking to these parties in hopes of some info and to Shabby Creek CottageSavvy Southern Style, My Repurposed Life.
