I’m super excited for our daycare provider who’s expecting her second baby, a little girl, this December. Ok. If I’m honest, I’m excited and a little scared since I have no idea what to do with the boys while she takes a little time off with the new baby. Working on it. Soon.
I’m also excited that I get to participate (at least a little bit) in putting this room together. I’m going to be dragging the dressers home to paint for the room in the next couple of weeks and I’ll share the details here when they’re done. In the meantime, I pulled together a mood board for the nursery based on the fabrics Tara chose and the color scheme. Don’t you love mood boards? Putting them together is a fun way to
avoid completing paperwork spend a rainy day.
Tara chose this great fabric she found on Etsy and has ordered it and will have it made into the nursery bedding.
I love this pirate girl theme. I love pirates in general and I may or may not have added it to my last evaluation as a career goal. Aargh! (Management was not amused.)
The original colors for the nursery were going to be aqua and pink with navy accents but when the first fabric sample came, the background was far more blue than aqua.
We pulled a grey paint out of the little grey octopus (can you spot him ?) and that’s the color that’s going on the walls in a lighter tone. I was thinking along the lines of Benjamin Moore’s Grey Owl but we’ll need to take the fabric in and get some help with that.
It’s such a great gray. Love that color but, as always, we need to see how it looks on the wall at different times of day.
Tara want’s the dressers painted pink and she’s probably going with the light pink, all distressed to like it washed ashore somewhere. Cute idea. I like the bright pink as well. It’s such a fun color.
The rest of the furniture will be white. And vintage! Yay!
Which allows for lots of fun and brightly colored accessories. Y’all already know how much I love to spray paint lamps. And just about everything else.
So cute! Here’s the little idea board that I pulled together from all of her great ideas.
It’s so much fun to plan for a little girl after having all boys the past few years. Can’t hardly wait to get going on these projects and share with you as the room comes together.
