TIPS FOR A SMOOTH CHRISTMAS MORNING

  • Make your bacon ahead of time, wrap in paper towels and reheat in the morning. No greasy mess to clean up when you’re trying to control the kids.
  • Set your table or buffet the night before.
  • Fill and preset the coffee maker before you go to bed.
  • Have trash bags handy for flying gift wrap and packaging materials. (I stick a few under the tree skirt)
  • Use disposable plates (I ordered these ones!) and cutlery. It’s okay. It’s either that or keep running the dishwasher all day long. Both are “bad for the environment”…do what’s easy.

Do you have any tips or tricks for making Christmas morning a little less chaotic?

  1. I agree, disposable stuff is fine for just one day.
Your opening paragraphs made me a little sad though, my kids are all big people who roll downstairs mid morning now – the days of sending them back to bed till the little hand points at the 7 are LONG gone! In some ways it’s nice and much less stressful but I do kind of miss having excited little ones about. This list still looks like a good idea, even if the family is all grown up, I like the keep it simple in the morning idea.

  2. Oh this is perfect Jenna. I’d like to have breakfast prepped for Christmas morning as we’ll be heading out for lunch this year. Thank you so much for sharing. I’ll definitely be making something from this list. PS this will be featured at my Christmas round up going live tomorrow. Thanks for being a part of it.

  5. Jenna, pinned and stumbled this, there are so many things on this list that look so good, we love breakfast around here, so much. I mean breakfast isn’t just for breakfast anymore, right??? Thanks for all the suggestions, perhaps I should see how many I can work my way through! LOL
