It’s 2016 and I still can’t find my…..Anything. I can’t find a damn thing. That’s probably because I’m a disorganized hot mess. On my 2016 goals and projects list, the home office piece was originally near the bottom of the barrel since I didn’t think it was a huge necessity. Until I tried to find last year’s tax info. And my car insurance. And stuff for our annual foster home review. Fine. Organizing it is. Since my other goal is to get off the sofa more often, my home office is going to be in my bedroom. I already have a desk undergoing a makeover but today I wanted to share a few ideas to make and organize a pretty home office that would fit in a master bedroom or smaller space.
You can’t beat a pretty tray for corralling all that desk stuff and making it look tidy.
Okay. I know lighting isn’t an “organizing tool” but if you can’t see, you can’t work.
Adding shelves is a great way to maximize storage space in a small area.
I love the idea of using clipboards to hold papers. It makes things look pretty and tidy all at the same time. #doublewin
Bulletin boards can be DIYed to make your space look more cohesive and less like a cubicle.
We have a wall pocket holder in the foyer to hold my sunglasses but they’re also perfect for home offices.
Storage boxes do double duty by looking pretty and hiding the paper clutter.
Under the desk storage is great way to maximize space in a small area.
If you’ve got room for a bookshelf you’ve really hit the home office jackpot!
Filing cabinets will hold all of your long term storage and they can be DIYed to look great in any office.
Now that I’ve got everything I need to get that office organized and pretty, I should probably be excused while I try to organize my stuff. So. Much. Stuff.
