Back again for week two of what might actually be a series since last week’s post was so popular! (Link)
Here are the things that caught my eye this week…
THE COLOR GREEN
This color is everywhere, including my own living room and bedroom since I bought these gorgeous pillows!
They add a nice pop of color as does this tropical leaf art that I grabbed from Etsy last fall. I also bought a couple from Tonic Living for the bedroom.
Want more green inspiration? It is Pantone’s color of the year, after all. Check out some of these ideas. Add it to your house, your wardrobe, or even your nails. I can’t get enough of it.
I have come to accept that maybe I’m in need of a dressier coat than the parka that I wear everywhere.
Man, I love this parka because it’s light but really warm at the same time. Dressy, it is not and I’m in need of something with a little more flair for those nights I actually leave the house. Now’s a great time to find a coat since most of them are on sale! I have my eye on loose fitting swing coat, figuring that maybe I can hide some of that holiday weight gain, thanks very much.
Ok. I’ve been obsessed with mascara for, like, ever. Because I pretty much have zero lashes and never did.
Umm. If you’re waiting for a before and after picture, you’re going to be disappointed. I don’t photograph well without makeup. Those last two words were unnecessary.
I got a pile of different mascaras for Christmas and I’m working my way through them all. My peeps know my obsessions so well. As of right now, these are my favorites.
Truth? I usually use two different kinds to get the length and volume I’m looking for. Chubby Lash stands on it’s own and gives a pretty, natural but full look. For more drama, I use the Smashbox first, followed by the Benefit roller lash which helps define and remove any clumps. Before I got the other brands for Christmas, I was using the Lash Sensational and topping it off with the L’Oreal Telescopic. It made for some good volume and length and lots of drama. And I’m still contemplating lash extensions or false lashes. One of these days.
Simply a beautiful speech by an incredible president. If you haven’t seen it, catch it here. And, have the tissues ready. The dignity and integrity of President Obama and the First Family over the last eight years has been inspiring. I’m going to miss them and I know I’m not alone.
Now what have you been up to this week?
