Cake Decorating Supplies

Inspired By You- Weekend Features #1

I’ve been spending a lot more time on social media lately and one of things I’ve really been trying to do was share more of the incredible ideas I see every day from other bloggers. There is some serious talent out there!
Blogging is hard work. I don’t think the average person realizes how much time, creativity, and energy it takes to come up with regular content each week. It’s mind boggling. Coming up with ideas, gathering supplies, putting the project together, taking photos, editing photos, writing the article and then getting it out there through social media is hard work!
I don’t think we give each other enough credit for the work we do. Some times I realize that when I’m working on the blog (hate this term by the way!), I can go days without human contact outside the house. While I’m generally fine with this (introvert alert), it does speak to the often solitary nature of how we work.

I’ve been considering starting a link party for awhile now however, I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t be able to stay on top of things and devote enough time to it. I think everyone who links up deserves to have their posts read and commented on by the hosts. I can barely open the mail sometimes or answer the phone so I don’t think a link party is something I can commit to at the moment.

Having said that, I still want to take some time each week to share the work of other bloggers who’ve inspired me all week long. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pin and tweet and share as much as I’d like to or I’d never get off the computer. It was out of this that the idea for “Inspired By You”, a weekly round up of great ideas from other bloggers, came from. Welcome to week #1.

Grab a cup of coffee ( or a glass of wine!) and settle in for this weeks inspiration.

Dawn at Home Making Hacks made this Minion No churn Ice Cream. Creative and yummy!

I love painted furniture and this ombre dresser from Stacie at Divine Lifestyle is no exception. She provides a full tutorial and shared some new paint that I’d never seen before.

Keri at Shaken Together put together a 3 ingredient pina colada dip that had me slobbering on the keyboard.

Sarah at Sadie Seasoned Goods shared a great DIY for bowl covers made from vintage bandanas.

Kristi at Making It In The Mountains shared a really thorough tutorial for making her gorgeous upholstered wing back head board.

Dee from Meatloaf and Melodrama (sounds like my life) made a simple star fish wreath from a pool noodle.

Jenn at A Hot Southern Mess (Isn’t that the greatest blog name?) served up some spicy shiitake, asparagus, and bacon pasta. Yum!

Ann from Ann’s Entitled Life shared her version of a cocktail called Crash and Burn. Best name for a cocktail that I’ve ever heard!

Naomi and Sage from Plaster and Disaster made over this old dresser into a gorgeous coral TV stand (Y’all know how much I heart coral!)

And Jenn at Clean and Scentsible made some custom roasting sticks. Perfect for glamping.

Inspired, yet? Which one is your favorite?

Crazy for Coral

Maybe it’s my fondness for the beach or all things vintage Florida, but I’ve always loved coral. Mostly the color but I also heart the stuff that grows in the ocean.  Today I’ve pulled together a few of my favorite drool-worthy projects that I’ve pinned over the past few years or so to share with all of you.

My fixation began when I saw this dresser makeover. I’ve also become a bit obsessed with gold dots which I’ve had trouble reigning in… lol.

A Place For Us

I also fell hard for this coral dresser makeover.

Turned to Design

Ok, and this one, too

And just one more. Seriously. Can’t stop.

I’m not counting this one since it’s ombre and all….so pretty!

How about a bright coffee table?

House on the Way

Love the pop of pretty this night stand brings to this guest room.

Two Twenty One

I found these pillow covers on Etsy.

This coral lampshade is also from Etsy.

Just want a little pop of color? Check out this bright bookcase.

DIY on the Cheap

How about an entire feature wall? I thought this was a fireplace at first. It’s a storage cubby. Even better!

So glam with the soft coral accents!

Carla Aston

How striking is this coral door against the navy siding?

The Estate of Things

I got into the swing of things when I painted a chair and added a navy and white cushion in my bedroom.

I also spray painted a chandelier in my new coral crush…Love waking up to this view.

Candy Cane Christmas Treats

One of my most favorite things about Christmas is candy cane flavoured EVERYTHING. I love when Tim Horton’s brings back their candy cane hot chocolate. Nothing compares. Nothing.
